BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join our Asia Pacific Gas and Global LNG team. The successful candidate will work with our high-powered global teams across Singapore, Beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, London and New York – covering commodities, energy and environmental markets. You’re one of those people who have a passion for the gas/LNG markets and the energy transition, and you want to be at the edge of change in this exciting industry. You naturally form original opinions, and you have a great ability to communicate your insights effectively. You have strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, along with a particular interest in understanding the complexity of traded markets and intricate energy policy frameworks.

We will trust you to:

• Conduct research and analysis on medium/long-term global gas demand fundamentals

• Develop medium/long-term outlook for gas in Asia – particularly South Asia and Southeast Asia markets – examining drivers such as policy, infrastructure, price trends, fuel switching and -market participant strategies

• Effectively communicate views and findings through regular written reports and client engagements

• Work with and coordinate research across various global teams for BNEF’s view on the role of gas in the energy transition

• Develop and maintain various datasets and tools on gas and LNG markets

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualification

• At least five years of experience in the energy or commodities sectors within a research, analysis, consulting, publishing, trading, financial or investment environment

• Experience in doing research in the gas and/or LNG market

• Proficiency in Excel or Python for data modelling and working with large datasets.

• Experience in developing gas supply-demand forecasts or outlook reports and building medium/long-term energy demand models

• Experience in gathering, processing, and analysing large datasets

• Strong English written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation

We'd love to see:

• Existing knowledge of South and/or Southeast Asian gas markets

• Language proficiency in another major regional language including but not limited to Bahasa, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese
