What’s the role?

Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) is the investment research arm of Bloomberg, with over 450 investment research professionals globally covering 2000 companies, delivering an independent perspective, providing interactive data and research across industries and global markets, plus insights into company fundamentals. BloombergNEF (BNEF) is a strategic research provider covering global commodity markets and the disruptive technologies driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. BNEF's expert coverage assesses pathways for the power, transport, industry, buildings and agriculture sectors to adapt to the energy transition and helps commodity trading, corporate strategy, finance and policy professionals navigate change and generate opportunities.

We are looking for a Communications Lead to support Bloomberg Editorial & Research, with a focus on managing strategy and media relations for Bloomberg Intelligence, as well as providing ongoing support for Bloomberg's other Research teams, including BloombergNEF. This person will work on strategy across various media platforms and is expected to have a firm understanding of business, finance, energy, health care, climate, technology and markets-related news and research. Ideally, this person should have demonstrated success in broadcast bookings, navigating complex communications issues, trade press, and events as well as the ability and flexibility to multitask, prioritize, and organize multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting required deadlines.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Work in tandem with a Research Communications Director and wider editorial communications team on integrated communications strategies

  • Manage print, online, broadcast and other media opportunities for analysts, research/content

  • Help manage and drive press coverage for events as well as manage press onsite

  • Support on high volume of content promotion and leverage Bloomberg's research to secure media coverage and other engagement opportunities

  • Identify and secure speaking engagements for analysts

  • Work closely across Bloomberg LP to align on communication priorities for the wider organization

  • Collaborate on efforts with across the global Editorial & Research communications team

  • Help manage communications agencies to ensure timely deliverables and drive ongoing PR goals

  • Leverage external media contacts across consumer and trade media

You'll need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant and progressive experience in a communications function, PR agency, or equivalent role

  • Strong knowledge and interest of business, finance, energy, health care, climate, technology and markets-related news and research

  • A solid track record of working experience in media relations

  • Extensive experience writing and implementing communications for a global audience

  • The skill to translate complex subjects into simple, impactful messages and narratives that translate across traditional and social media platforms

  • Event experience

  • The ability to work well with senior executives, top business leaders, and newsmakers

  • The ability and flexibility to multitask, prioritize, and organize multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting required deadlines

  • Proven success in leading diverse, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced corporate environment

  • Strong project management skills

Salary Range: 120,000 - 135,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
