What’s the role?

At Bloomberg, we are committed to fighting the battle against climate change. That’s why we’re taking action, using our expertise in data – and decades of experience leading from the front – to tackle climate change from every angle. Climate change is changing the way market participants allocate capital, and the ability for businesses and investors to understand their climate related impacts, risks, and mitigation pathways is crucial.

Our offerings are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock – from around the world. We are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. As a team, we are responsible for the development of Net Zero Transition focused data solutions, and work across key climate initiatives including Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC).

The Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC) is an initiative, launched at COP28 in Dubai. Its aim is to significantly increase the availability and effectiveness of climate finance technical assistance programs for financial institutions and other stakeholders in emerging markets and developing economies.

Supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Coalition brings together some of the world’s leading climate finance organizations. UN agencies, multilateral development banks (MDBs), standard setters, and the private sector will enhance collaboration and respond to growing requests for capacity building support from financial institutions in EMDEs to meet the aims of the UN and the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG).

A critical component of the Global Capacity Building Coalition’s success is the development of an online platform, which will be an ultimate repository of capacity building resources, training, and technical assistance. We are looking for a Business Analyst to help refine functionality, build alignment across leads, and oversee the delivery of this platform.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering the online platform and supporting GCBC Leadership to execute the Coalition’s strategy and ambitions. The role requires experience in product and online content development and deployment, project management and commitment to climate, multilateral collaboration. It will require excellent stakeholder relationships and management skills and a track record of delivering complex, technology-driven projects to a global audience. Familiarity with finance and/or climate is an additional advantage.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Work closely with the Leadership to prioritize enhancements in line with the product vision

  • Act as a project manager to ensure projects and required tasks are well scoped and on track

  • Produce detailed project specifications from high-level requirements and ensure product requirements are well defined and translated into practical build requirements for the development teams

  • Actively engage with leadership, secretariat, engineering, and design teams to improve product team processes and to increase the operational efficiency of the business

  • Proactively monitor and track product delivery status, key issues and risk and communicate with internal/external stakeholders

  • Actively engage 3rd party vendors on key dependencies and critical issues to ensure on-time product delivery

  • Analyze usage statistics to support formation of product strategy and development of the product roadmap

  • Provide ad-hoc reporting requested by management, highlighting project latencies, and surface impactful issues and risks

  • Ensure the online platform is the best-in-class in user experience, interaction and accessibility, and that its resources are of outstanding quality, and appropriately targeted (across regions, topics, languages, delivery mode and types of financial institutions and other users)

You’ll need to have:

  • 6+ years’ experience in product analyst or related field

  • Experience defining web-based product requirements

  • Experience translating strategic ideas to actionable requirements and acceptance criteria for vendor delivery

  • Outstanding organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

  • A strong team player with proven ability to work constructively and collaboratively

We’d love to see:

  • Experience developing and deploying EdTech or similar technology solutions in a global, multi-stakeholder environment

  • Experience working in climate finance, climate transition and/or capacity building
