Global Investing Editor

London

Posted Jun 6, 2024 - Requisition No. 125796

Bloomberg News is looking for an editor in London to cover the story of how large pools of capital are increasingly pushing into private markets, and the wealth created from the rise of alternative assets. You'll be responsible for shaping coverage of some of the newsroom's most high-profile stories, working with finance and wealth reporters across the region to break news and produce eye-catching enterprise. We're looking for someone with the dynamism and drive to juggle multiple stories on murky topics and work across the entire spectrum of our coverage.

You should have a proven track record of working with junior and senior reporters, covering high-impact news and overseeing longer-form enterprise pieces. Experience covering finance is a plus.

The ability to leverage Bloomberg's global newsroom by cooperating across teams and time zones is a vital aspect of the role.

We'll expect you to:

  • Shepherd stories through the newsroom, working with stakeholders to ensure our coverage reaches our clients in a timely fashion and in the most compelling format.

  • Work on pieces that span the billionaires, personal finance, real estate, investing and banking beats, and serve as a mentor to our reporters.

  • Cross collaborate with both the finance and wealth teams

You'll need to have:

  • A minimum of three years editing;

  • A proven ability to work with all types of journalists;

  • Comfortable working under deadlines plus a desire to take responsibility for shaping coverage and mobilize the newsroom;

  • Sound news judgement and a talent for looking beyond the obvious story;

  • A willingness to work well within a team and with others across the newsroom;

  • Ideas for new and exciting ways to cover the beat.

Apply if you think we're a good match. We'll get in touch to let you know that the next steps are, but in the meantime feel free to have a look at:
